V+ installed Tuesday a.m. hasn't worked yet

It's an ongoing saga, original install date 27/2, engineer turned up with no box had to wait another week. Finally installed, paying for XL package only getting BBC1 &2,ITV & CH4. We cant watch any recorded progs because of fault with pin and keep getting on screen msg about invalid smart card. I wouldn't recommend VM to my worst enemy!!!!! :td:CS & faults nobody seems to have a clue what to do about this, except wait four days for a fone call :shocking:

Anybody else having similar probs

Hi jarood.:welcome:
Read the posts under 'cable tv service'. Your probs. seem a little worse than most but the more knowledgeable members will undoubtedly give you loads of advice. They helped me sort me out when I first got V+

When my V+ was installed they deactivated the wrong STB (I already had two, they took one away and left one, as I requested). It took at least 4 calls to customer services and one week elapsed time before my subscribed programs were re-instated on my second STB.

The almost maniacal defence of VM in the face of Sky on these forums does make me smile. It's still the same inept and incompetent ntl underneath.

Looking on tech stuff screen saw caption saying card not paired and pin uninitialised. Phoned faults again, they have guaranteed problems will be sorted by 6.00pm Sat 10th (I'm not gonna hold my breath)

Where are you based? I'm in Winchester and had mine installed on the 7th. It's never worked despite many calls to customer services and faults. I now understand that there may be a fault in the area.

Re: V+ installed Tuesday a.m. hasn't worked yet

Had my V+ installation this morning. Took about 40 minutes in total, including the re-location of my existing box to the bedroom. I had to set the TV volume control myself after the engineer left. i also had to call CS twice to resolve a couple of connection issues, these were dealt with suprisingly quickly, now all is working perfectly well.
My initial impression, if i were to compare with Sky+, (Which i used to have for a few of years), is very favourable. Very easy to use, good remote control, i even had a user guide. I suppose tomorrow all will go wrong.;)

I'm based in N.I.
Called 150, yesterday 9/03, selected leave VM option, waited 40 mins to talk to someone, told her the probs, said we had had enough and wanted to leave, all probs sorted within 5 mins! Maybe that's the trick, take steps to leave.
Now that we have all that we were promised, I am quite impressed with the quality of picture etc, but still think cs & faults are very unhelpful. I just hope it doesn't take 4 days to sort out any problem!!!:Yikes:
