V+ is better in theory as it has 3 tuners as opposed to Sky's 2. It is also free and not £300.

V+'s problem comes regarding content. With Sky HD you get HD movies and sport, as well as some documentary channels. With Virgin Media HD content is thin on the ground, so while it's a better box in theory, you can't watch as much stuff on it.

For free though it does upscale all of your TV so makes everything look better than standard SD (in my opinion very near HD quality). That gives V+ a distinct advantage. No £300 and no £10 per month.

Generally Sky has better offers than V+, especcially if you want HDTV, indeed SKY has the best content in Europe. I'd like to have it but I cannot hang the dish on building.

For me personally the V+ is far superior. People with Sky plus must have far more recording clashes than V+ owners and have to choose which programme not to record. With the V+ having an extra tuner that is rarely a problem.

As for HD content, as downloads said the V+ upscaled picture is so good I think to most people that is a minor issue. The picture on upscaled SD content is stunning.

To be fair, I believe the HD content on V+ will be increasing.

It is dd5.1. I get it through the optical connector to my audio system.

I watched it all many months ago and don't feel like watch still beatiful sightseeing, after few movies that boring, don't say that there are FilmFlex HD movies on Demand, I dont see any new movie for about 3 months.
I woried that V+ increases only VOD instead add some more HD channels.
