getting freeview from old NTL box
 
Hi, I no longer live in a ntl cable area, but they refused to pick up the box. is there anyway that I can use this box to recieve Freeview.

Nope sorry, the NTL type STBs are not able to decode freeview signals. If Virgin Media don't want it back (make sure you have a record of who exactly said that) then it becomes a useless doorstop.

If a door stop actually stops a door can it really be truly useless? ;)

I've never had to stop a door going anywhere............

They tend to just swing back and forth (or move side to side if you are Gwyneth Paltrow).
