PC Startup Items

Telewest(VM) broadband has added the following to my startup items:
Motive SmartBridge
Broadbandadvisor.exe
PCguard
Grateful if someone could advise whether they are all necessary at startup and/or safe.
Many Thanks

I'd get rid of it all. I've never used the CD's they give you apart to install the USB modem driver, but not used that since using LAN years ago.

PC Guard is their own firewall type software I think, Broadband advisor and motive smartbridge can help if you have connection issues.

I think they're about as useful as a condom machine in the Vatican.

Did I say "useful" in my post? ;) If the end user is a novice at PCs then the installed items may prove handy. If they have any kind of knowledge or common sense then the tools are un-needed.

None of them are needed, unless you have no Firewall and in that case keep PC Guard running.

I found that PC Guard slowed the set down tremendously and reverted back to Avast.
