Disable DHCP on one router and you need to connect a lan from the first router to the WAN on the router with the disabled DHCP.
Why not get a repeater. access point or extender? What router do you have now?
Edit: like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-802-1.../dp/B00008XYJ5

I have the Linksys router, and the range is excellent. I used the laptop over the road in the neighbour's place once with no loss or deterioration. I can also use the laptop at the bottom of the garden.

If its an older version you end up buying, you could flash the dd-wrt firmware and increase the signal that way as well. I dont think its recomended to boost the signal to much thou. Somebody like Nikesh might be able to help there. ;)
