No Recording Due To Clash When No Clash

I've seen bits on this from others but are people experiences clashes even when nothing else is set to record. I've noticed a couple of programs with the ! nothing else set to record.

i.e. Stargate, The Unit, Dresden Files.

Anybody any ideas?

I had one tonight, it may be because of the padding. Only 2 tuners record, so if the padding overlaps the next program, it will fail.

Padding will not cause a recording to fail. There is a built in fail-safe that drops padding when it would cause a clash. This is both from the manual and from my personal experience.

There have been a few notes on here about 'pretend' clashes, to do with a couple of specific protrammes, but they have ended up recording in spite of the clash. I think people were advised to do a reset or a reformat, but if you reformat you'll lose whatever else you've saved.
