Someone Explain Series Link To Me Please
 

HI ALL

have a pvr box first time ive ever used anything like this i like the idea of the series link but am not quite sure on its full capabilities


if i set a series link to say a proggy on sky one i get options to record all,choose episodes but i have a few questions


as the epg only shows episodes for 8 days do i have to keep going into it and selecting the next lot of episodes

also i see you get like am afternoon or pm show does this mean it will only record the shows if they on at that time

I don't know about Virgin but i have Sky and i'm guessing it's similar. It will only record the episode of it's on at the same time as far as i know, it won't get the repeats or whatever on an afternoon, though say you wanted to series link eastenders which can be on at 7.30 or 8 then it will still work, but it wouldn't get the sunday omnibus. You only see 8 days worth but by the end of the week the next 8 days will already be up so it will still keep linking them.

:shrug: I'm probably wrong of course, cos i don't even have Virgin telly:LOL:

Yes, you set the series link once and the box works out the rest when the new EPG data is downloaded every night :)

It doesn't work across channels (eg repeats of The Bill on ITV3).

A lot of this depends on the guide information.

The series will continue to record past the 8 days. If the series has am or pm i think the box will only record the show in that part of the day.

I think I have a kids show set as series link that has a fixed time, so it will only record the show at 5pm
