Two boxes in the same room

At the moment I have a STB and cable modem in the same room uses one cable from the wall box through a spliter.

If a have a second box in the same room, will I get a 2nd cable from the wall or will the engineer use a three way spliter?

Proberly use a 3-way, it would be far simpler

Won't you have problems with clashing remote controls ?

Both would be connect to my PC, the IR blaster has three zones. to stop commands being sent to the wrong STB you mask off the IR receiver with black tape.

Trying to decide between V+ or 2nd STB connected to PC

Re: Two boxes in the same room

may need a second cable to be run,but it would depend on the signal strength coming through the already split first cable.one thing that i'm curious about is why you want a second box in the same room,is it for a second person to watch a different channel,or for recording purposes. If it's for recording, would you not be better off just replacing the first box with a V+ box which has three tuners.
