From experiance anytime there is a code drop the boxes take a wee while to settle down.

Re: V+HD box locking up after new firmware this morning

Ive thrown my dummy out of the pram this morning after my update thats killed my box and ive got an engineer coming out to test this pile of crap this afternoon. If this isnt resolved ive told Virgin media that they can take this useless paperweight out of my house to which they told me they would charge me for the year. I laughed in their face stating offcoms 3 day to fix ruling (I first reported tv drive problems in Jan) and trading standards goods and services must be fit for purpose. All the spouting about a new firmware fixing the problem is pish. Ive never known a motherboard slow down or work funny for an hour or 2 after a flash is rediculas

Ive just noted on demand is now not available and the menus are now working so maybe they have found a problem and are going to fix it maybe just maybe

Re: V+HD box locking up after new firmware this morning

I found the Virginmedia update had applied over night and the V+ box didn't respond to well after checking the system settings so reset the V+ box. I then found the V+ box reset itself when I selected on demand. After the second reset the V+ box responded much quicker. Both the EPG and the remote control have been very quick. I'm at work at the momoent but look forward to checking out the updated V+ box later tonight.

I like the new colour scheme.

When are the standard STB boxes getting updated? I have a Samsung 2110 box with the old flavour scheme.

Mine is slow too.

Maybe a reset would sort this out?

but my electric ran out this morning also, and it went slow at 5am when I was still up.

Gonna try a few diagnostics and see...
