Waiting to see what the new shifts are and new T&Cs and to see what payrise this new company will give .Also to see if they will reconise cwu union for servise techs :) .

Re: calling all service engineers

pay rise it was 2% last year and 13 service calls a day, if steve kirk ( md of service) gets his way it will be a pay cut and split shifts

Thats why if more people join the union they will not be able to use the bully boy tatics .13 jobs a day virgin say that staff come first then customers keep your staff happy they will keep your customers happy .Steve Kirk has no idea what goes on he needs to get out of the office more and travel around the country to see what is going on .But he will never do that if the service managers have to so should he  Going back to the cwu i call all techs to join the more people that do then it will get reconised and hopefully we will get better deals at payrise time .I have never been a union man but they way we are treated at times has anoyed me

when are you going to find out what the new guys on the block are proposing?

- good luck with getting an union recognised :tu:

- given the choice would you prefer being paid per job, or salary + overtime ?

- split shifts are the pits :erm:

Service techs are salary based unlike installers who are paid per job .Know one knows when the new T&Cs are due seem to put on a back burner due to Virgin rebranding .As for the shifts nothing else has been heared from the company.Question for service techs do you feel thet the voice forum is working or are they only used to pass the bad news to us instead of the snr managers:mad: .And how many techs think that the service meter used by ntl service techs is of poor quality .I have been doing this job for a long time 12 years and this is the worst it has been in my eyes .I just hope Virgin LISTEN to what the front line staff have to say to improve customer service  Rant over

Come Thursday, you will still be dealing with ntl faults, in an ntl time span, you'll just have a different logo on your shirt!
Until the ntl work ethos is battered out of the managers, nothing will change.
I personally give it 6 months before the Virgin name is as a bag o's***e as ntl's. Pity really cos it would have been nice working for a good company.

You guys have my sincere respect, it's no fun being 'techie in the middle'. Lots of hot waffle and unrealistic demands from those above who don't know one end of screwdriver from another, and on the other side grumpy customers who've been given the run around by Customer Dis-service.

your right about the poor quality meters i,am on my sixth meter. the point about the voice forum, thats just a joke if that was going to work something would have been done by now about the terrible customer service given by ntl. know one listens to front line staff, 24 techs tell the same horror storys every week to deaf ears

new employment contracts will start to be issued out from Feb12th, you will have two weeks to mull over them and you can start accepting them from the 26th.

They don't become effective until April 1st
