Speedbooster is only useful if you have a wireless adaptor that has speedbooster too.

To reach a potential 125mbps... (i think my figures right)

As Nikesh has said, its only useful if you have a Linksys wireless card which has the same SpeedBooster technology.

Sorry you are getting confused with the 802.11n standard (it's not a full standard yet so there are incompatibilities between manufacturers).

Speedboost gives up to 35% improvement over the 802.11g speeds (54Mbps) wireless. It can only do that if everything on the network is speedboost enabled, i.e. you are stuck with Linksys. Linksys suggest you might get up to 20% better speed with non Speeboost stuff.

Additionally (depending on the hardware version) the GS has a greater amount of memory that can be used if you're using something like DD-WRT.
