Defrag Problem
Why is the defrag completed when there are still over 400 fragmentated files left on C Drive?
How do i defrag these? http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/4641/defragih8.jpg |
Re: Defrag Problem
They are most probably unmovable system files.

Re: Defrag Problem
Some things can't be moved.......
Does your defrag software have an option to do boot-time defragmentation as well? I've used Diskeeper before, which could defrag at boot-time too, & move stuff which couldn't normally be moved while actually in Windows. Seemed pretty good overall, lots of options, better than the XP default one. Not tried UltimateDefrag. |
Re: Defrag Problem
I've not tried UltimateDefrag but I have diskeeper which is brilliant. Definitely recommend it. ;) :tu:

Re: Defrag Problem
It has an option to do boot-time defrag, i've used Diskeeper & Perfect Disk before, but lots of people recommended this UltimateDefrag so im using it now, its really quick to defrag, but this is the only issue im having...

Re: Defrag Problem
See if you can get what the files are called. Win XP defrag tells you.
If its the swap file you can disabled the swap file reboot in safe mode and defrag again. Also some defraggers refuse to work with files over 4gb. |
