Ethernet over powerlines
Has anyone else tried this technology?
I just bought myself 3 Netgear 14mpbs ethernet over power adapters I don't need anything more than 14, as I don't use a network other than internet usage But, i've installed it all AOK and it's awesome! I've been stuck with a rather unreliable internet connection for AGES, so this makes a nice change Plugged it in, wired up the ethernet cable, didn't even need to install anything, just worked right out of the box, no drivers, nada! It does come with a CD if you want to setup an encrypted password for the network, but eh |
Re: Ethernet over powerlines

Nice, didn't realise it'd been around for so long.

Re: Ethernet over powerlines
first network I set up using these was in the summer of 2005 for a guy who had an office built in his garden (he is loaded) to be away from his misses ;) worked a treat and ive championed it ever since :)

Strangely I still find it difficult not to call them powerline devices, and I used to work with the people that were on the powerline project. |
