With any luck, they'll stop

I guess your response is based on people complaining about the service and getting a discount not discounts on additional services.

I hope they stop. at least every1 pays the same for their service. Also hope that Retentions is going to be strickt and not going to fall for the blackmail from "I'll go to sky if you dont give me 20 meg whilst I only pay 10 pound deals"

I have discounts but only because they gave them i did not ask i get tv drive includeding full packge for £20 10mb BB for £10 and free telephone line,
I get the phone free as i said i did not need it and they said ok we will give you it for free, Then for the broadband i asked about changeing down to 2mb and they said hold on you can keep 10mb of £10 per month, and when i asked about tv as i was thinking about tv with ntl they said you can have the lot sir if you sign up now for £20 per month, |

If they dont give discounts they need to do some price drops, not price hikes.
my personal circumstances: family pack tv 4 mb broadband tel line talk unl. local i have my broadband at 1/2 price, bill is usually about 43.00 a month. this is still more expensive than sky, sky is 37.00 per month for above. dont mind paying slightly more than sky because cable broadband is better (but tv worse), but without discount price diff in my opinion would have been to large. |

Listen, i want NTL to survive , competition is good for consumers, but how are NTL going to survive if they dont compete with sky.
New customers are not going to join NTL if they can get the same services at a LOT lower price. I will pay more (and do) than the price i can get from sky, but i will only pay so much. why do they offer discounts to some when they should offer better prices to everyone. |

Boy! after reading through this lot, some of you are on great deals for your packages! We pay around £74 a month to Telewest for that we get 2Meg BB, a 24Hr free calls phone for £25.50 a month and and their "Essential" TV package with the TV drive box for H/D which costs us another £15 a month.
We had to get the TV drive box as the picture quality on our new H/D TV was so poor when we got it home. (Mind you, it was well worth it to see the World Cup games in H/D);) |

Well I've Just had my training for the rebrand today and they are brining in specific rentention offers that match the price of sky and talk talk.
So i think that once these are introduced and are implace they will limit what we are allowed to offer and all the silly discounts will stop. and if people arn't happy with that then tougth. Only my opinion though. |
