Yahoo Specific Virus ?
 

Just a heads up.........


I've just had a virus warning on 2 seperate Yahoo mail accounts. One with an attachment of postcard.exe and one with a screensaver extension (.scr). Subject fields were "happy new year" and "good day" respectively. So, as per usual, be very careful about attachments, don't open the buggers. Maybe this is Yahoo specific accounts, as I haven't had problems with any other email accounts. At least Avast is doing it's job well. :)

I thought Yahoo scanned all attachments.

Just a hint to anyone who doesn't know, a Windows Screen Saver (.scr) is just a renamed .exe file so can carry a payload just the same only it's easier to fall for.

Maybe Yahoo's email scanning isn't up to the job.

After a quick google on postcard.exe it seems there is reference to it here as malware. avast flagged it as suspicious, and the fact that Dr Web mentions "Happy new year" makes me even more suspicious. This mail was also unsolicited.
