how do i create a firewire 1394 connection, laptop and pc
 

my burner isnt working and i want to transfer some data over....doing it over wireless and lan is too slow, would prefer to do at 400mb

i have the cables all connected etc, but its keep showing it as unplugged on the computer/laptop.

do i need to configure i.p addresses or anything?

it should be plug and prey i think, does the firewire port show up in device manager?
