Call charges
Hi I am on the 3p plan with talk weekends.
What I would like to know is, is there a cheaper call plan I can switch to where I can make a call in the evening for less than 3p per min? I am not a heavy user and none of the fixed price plans (like talk evening and weekend) would be benificial for me. I just make the odd call in the evening and really dont want to pay 3p per minute with a connection charge of 6p, thats not a competative rate at all, Id be better off with BT! |
Re: Call charges
There used to be a 5p plan (5p for an hour evenings and weekends) for the same price as Talk Weekends but that is no longer available to customers.
As you say, you would be better off with BT (unless you have some NTL bundle with reduced line rental). Alternatively, there are some companies that offer cheaper calls via NTL phone lines (I am sure others will be able to step in to help here) but even in that case you would still be better off using those companies via a BT line. |
Re: Call charges
www.1899.com will provide a service for you at 1ppm - no nned to change your line or phone and you only pay for the time you use. :)
Oh and that's 1ppm at all times to landlines. Make sure you look at the Cable charges and not BT (BT's charges are cheaper). :) HTH |
Re: Call charges
I use 1899...works fine...BUT..be aware that NTL still charge a connection fee to connect to 1899

Re: Call charges
They shouldn't do it's an 0800 number.

Re: Call charges
Can anyone confirm?
Do NTL charge a connection charge on 1899? Looking at the 1899 web site it apprears that you have to call an 0808 number before you call out which surely should be free of any connection or call charge?? |
Re: Call charges
I use 1899 now as I am not paying 3ppm with 6p connection, thats a joke. I have looked through NTL's price list and cannot see the charge for 0800, 0808 numbers, do I assume they are totally free of charge? (ie No connection charge) Maybe a member of staff can confirm??

Re: Call charges
080x numbers (currently 0800/0808) are entirely free - no per minute or connection charge.
