Strange Belkin advice
Yesterday a very nice lady in India helped me to connect my wireless g router for the first time. I had the wired connection working, but got the 'limited connectivity' message when I set up wireless. She told me to enter various settings in my Lan box under TCIP, including DNS servers with single digits like 4, 2 etc. This was in the wired connections properties box, so I'm intrigued to know how this works to connect to wireless, which it did first time! I presume that this was something to do with fixing an IP address, but all the books tell you not to do this. And what's with the single digit DNS servers?

Re: Strange Belkin advice
Well they are based in the USA so are rather crap for your purposes, best either
1. Let it pick them up automatically from NTL (best bet) OR 2. set the NTL ones 194.168.4.100 194.168.8.100 HTH :) |
