Internet disconnecting
 

Router: WPN824

Cable: 4mbps

Cable modem: Terayon TJ120?

Problem: Very frequent disconnects. Once disconnected cable light goes out on modem and internet goes down. After a while it reconnects and all is fine. Can't download even small files as it crashes before then.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Oh yeah, ipconfig /release then /renew seems to fix it.

That's meant to say Terayon 210. I guess I need a new modem then?

Terayon Terajet 210's are struggling under the new 256Qam networks. So it's highly probable that that is the issue.

Mine kept disconnecting this morning but it is ok now

i'm in the nn6 area of northampton and i'm getting disconnected about once every 10mins sometimes for only a minute and sometimes for about 15 mins, as i write this all internet connection has gone again it came on for 15secs then has gone off again its been like this since last thursday i hope i can post this

i've phoned support and they have booked an engineer for thursday.

by the way my modem is a terajet tj210

Hopefully you'll get a new ntl:250 modem.

just an update engineer turned up today?? changed my modem to a 250 and once it was activated its been working ok.

he said he and some others had been called in from leicestershire to help the northamptonshire engineers deal with all the jobs as the network has been upgraded and every call he had done today except 1 was to change terayon modems over.

Good to hear your internet is back to normal.

I live in Leicester, looks like I might have to get upgraded soon then. :(
