No Internet Connection
I live in Bromley area & have ntl broadband IE7 Win XP & a linksys wireless router. Everything was working fine earlier today & for a while now, but since lunchtime I've had no connection to the net. Exlplorer is coming up with the standard can't connect screen, & the address is res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm in the bottom left as it fails to connect.
The wireless connection seems to be working perfectly, I've checked this from both my PC's. I also tried connecting via the STP to the laptop via a cable rather than using wireless just to double check it wasn't that at fault. I've also rebooted everything & checked the cables are in properly. We are getting cable TV no problem at all. Anyone else having similar problems or is this one for NTL's customer services in the morning? Also, just wondered if it's possible to set up an ntl dial up for situations like this so I could receive & send emails via my outlook express as normal rather than logging in via webmail? Thanks |
Re: No Internet Connection
If you connect through an STB is it a PACE ? If so, do you have 2 solid lights on the front display ?

Re: No Internet Connection
only the top light is showing - presumably bottom light means internet connection?
Fair play, i saw NTl's BB helpline is open to midnight 7 days a week which i didn't expect to be open on a sunday night, rang them, the wait to be dealt with was minimal once I'd got passed the recorded messages & the guy said straight away that BR1 & BR2 areas have a major problem which won't be fixed until Monday evening. Shame the ntl website doesn't have this on the problem page as would have saved me the call & time spent rebooting & checking cables etc. |
