Cable TV garbled in the evening

Often at night lately our cable TV has been, for want of a better word, 'garbling' on most of the channels. Annoyingly, this is also the time that we happen to be most likely watching the TV!

It can range on different channels to complete garble on the screen, and high-pitched noises, to the screen stuttering and the odd high-pitched noise.

I found the diagnostic feature tonight, and on the last page I found the following:

(302) Post-RS Error 1811 835000
(302) Post-RS Error 295 339000
(302) Post-RS Error 2050 835000
(302) Post-RS Error 4319 827000
(302) Post-RS Error 3047 467000
(302) Post-RS Error 12 339000
(302) Post-RS Error 3120 451000
(302) Post-RS Error 16401 467000
(302) Post-RS Error 76 579000
(302) Post-RS Error 1328 451000

All this was occuring from the time I turned it on, to when I got to this screen (about five minutes later). At the minute the only channel that is watchable is E4 and E4+1.... annoying because I'd rather watch the poker on Challenge!

We've tried rebooting but to no avail, I might give it a good ten minutes in a sec.

Does anyone know if the errors above mean anything significant?

I have a Samsung STB, in the Swindon area. We're trialling this new software around here, but it was acting up like this before the new software as well.

Sounds like a bad power level issue to me. Although i wouldn't know how to check this with a Set Top Box.

Almost certainly bad signal levels. Give Faults a call.

They've done a few things over the phone, lets hope it does the job :tu:
