Email Trouble

I'm having trouble with my Email with microsoft Outlook, everytime I open Outlook it comes up with my password box, when I put my password in it does nothing only pops up again, I've tried to get into my account via NTL World.com but when I put my password and username in it says invalid username and password.

Sounds like the ntl server is messing you about.

Try it again tommorrow, but if it won't work then, and youcan't do webmail either call ntl to see if they can get the password reset, or if they have an alternative problem.

I've had this problem occasionally. Make a note of all your account settings, delete the account & set it up again...

Worked for me....

No joy on that one, it's still asking me for my password for the incoming mail server.

If you look further down the page, under the password box you will see a note stating" if you registered during the last 24hrs etc etc etc click here. You should then access your mail. It did for me anyway.

Hi

I've been having the same problems. Have also had my password set by NTL and was told it would take a few hours to get through but it's been 6 days now and still I cannot get into my NTL account or mail on their homepage and it still does show an error through the OE.

I have emailed them back but no joy so far.

I'm not a new customer neither.

Yep, same here today. Both mine and the wifes account both saying authorization failed. They are obviously messing about again.

Have you tried my suggestion in the earlier post???? i.e try the option as if you have only just registered!!!! Also, why don't you use outlook express, it does away with all this signing in once you have set it up.

May sound stupid or patronising or whatever, but you have checked that you have the correct password? Remember that username and password must both be in lowercase, the password must contain at least one number and the username in Outlook does not include @ntlworld.com.
Also, Outlook should say something like "enter your password for the following server" - does it correctly state "pop.ntlworld.com" or is it something else like "127.0.0.1"?

I have been have the same problem for weeks now using Outlook 2003.
As I have been getting timeout errors I have set timeout as long as possible and sometimes that has worked.
When are they going to sort it out!!!!!!!
The problems with email and the bandwidth throttling means it is almost impossible to gain access between 3.30pm and approx 10.00pm.

Yes I did, also it did not work for me.

I was hoping to set up a new email address but looks like I'm stuffed now.

I rang ntl Monday morning and told them. They had my username and password and at 4 oclock today it came back on with a welcome to ntl email . So it looks like they had to reset the account.
