heavy dad mode : limiting access time
Hi
It's panto time, so you can all boo and hiss, but I need to look at options for restricting access time to the Internet on my son's PC. He's pretty much addicted, so I want to limit him to 2hrs an evening, 4hrs a day at weekends or somesuch. I've got ntl broadband, standard router, and a belkin wireless hub, all wired into my PC. He's got a diddy belkin usb wifi donglethingie. Ideally I want something simple and free! Any suggestions> Mr W |
Re: heavy dad mode : limiting access time
Which router is it? Some come with a facility to limit access to the Internet from certain PCs to certain times.

Boo Hiss.
You could always just take the Dongle away. |
Re: heavy dad mode : limiting access time
option 1...the router has under firewall the option of "client ip filters" here you can restrict the internet per ip.
or if your fed up with his browsing just disable the wireless bit, and he cant get on either. ow just make sure you put a password on the router otherwise if he's a clever 1 he might just find how to get in and change all settings anyways ;) |
