How do i wire up......?

Anyone any idea how the heck you wire up the front headphone and mic socket on the front of the computer case? When i bought the parts from my current comp and built it, i had on the front of my case, 2 usb ports and a green line out and pink mic port....didnt have a clue how to wire them up and didnt need them at the time so didnt bother. Could be doing with them now lol anyone any ideas? BTW my mobo is an Asus A8v.

Well if your Motherboard has headers for them, then its possible, if not, it isn't. Read your motherboard manual and there will be a section for Front Panel Audio (if indeed it is available on your motherboard) Telling you where the connectors go, it will probably currently be jumpered off, you just have to remove the jumpers and connect the plugs.

Your m/b does have front panel audio capability,
http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?m...=3&l2=15&l3=68
you just have to locate them and connect to the front panel

Re: How do i wire up......?

Thanks Zingle but it aint as simple as that....on the mobo manual it says the connections to the board are usb+5v x 2 , usb_P7- , usb_P8- , usb_P7+, usb_P8+, GND x 2 and NC.............and thats on EACH connection. Where would i find ut also what the front audio ones are? As the connections on them are BLINE_OUT_L, Line Out_L, NC , BLINE_OUT_R, Line Out_R , +5VA, MICPWR, AGND, MIC 2 ....which i'd paid more attention at school now :D

with the usb they are normall bunched into 2 sets of 4 so you can follow them easily. As far as front audio I cant see how 4 leads are going to give you line and mic
