TV Drive - Recording Delay TV?
In section 2 of the manual for the TV Drive, it says if you press pause to pause live TV, you can then press Record to record the paused program to the TV Drive.
This doesn't work, it just says that it's not possible to record in Delay TV mode. Is there any way to do this. My wife asked this question in the following circumstance. If she was watching Coronation Street, and the phone went, she could pause the program. BUT Eastenders will then be on as soon as Coronation Street has finished. So how would she get around this? Coronation Street is paused so by the time that's finished after she presses Play, the other program would have started. While Coronation Street is paused (or even playing in Delay mode), she cannot press Record to record CS onto the TV Drive. She also can't get into the TV Drive menu to set Eastenders to record. I couldn't care less about the soaps myself, but am interested in the principle of this. Is there a way to do this? Otherwise, Pause TV loses some of it's usefulness if it's just going to make you miss other things. Hope that makes sense. I described it as best I could. Thanks. |
Re: TV Drive - Recording Delay TV?
It could be part of a future update to the TVDrive software as it looks like thier still tweaking things.
personally I wouldnt mind a way of dumping the delay tv to a file; that way if u just watched something but hadnt recorded it you could still save it. Tried winding back and recording but it says "Cant record from delay tv". If its already a file on the disk then surely it should be easy just to copy it to another file with the details taken from the schedule. How bout it you clever TVDrive programmers? :D |
Re: TV Drive - Recording Delay TV?
I see what you mean.
To get around this - and bear with me cos its a bit long winded instead of pausing ITV, hit record. You could then set BBC to record from the EPG. To return to ITV where you left off, go to your recorded programs and select it from there. Although the program is still recording, you can watch this from the HDD at the same time. Should get the desired effect |
Re: TV Drive - Recording Delay TV?
Thanks!
Not quite as convenient a solution as I'd like, but it's a workable one until hopefully an upgrade sorts it. While I'm here, we are watching Strictly Come Dancing on the BBC HD channel. Whilst it looks very good, and the people almost stand out like 3D, has anyone else noticed it being a bit grainy and blocky? |
Re: TV Drive - Recording Delay TV?
Well, must have just been Strictly Come Dancing, because Robin Hood looked amazing in HD!

I know component is only analogue, but you can still upscale all of your channels, even the SD ones to 720/1080, and the Virgin box does a good job of it. Abs |
