pop3 settings

Okay i'm using windows xp pro version 2002 service pack 2. I did a format on the pc and installed this newer version of windows windows last nite, whan it came to setting up the email i put in all the ntl settings (pop.ntlworld.com etc) but when i shut down outlook express then reopen it then check in my server settings in the box where it says incoming mail settings instead of, pop.ntlworld.com it has numbers in it.
if i change this back when i re open it has gone back to the numbers again, It seems to send and recieve okay but this never happened on my older version of windows.
Can someone shed some light on this for me Please
Thanks
Connieboy

Have you installed any anti-virus software? What is the IP address or numbers in the box?

Re: pop3 settings

no clear the settings and start again. If you have an microsoft office package you could use outlook which is a better program anyway or you could opt for Thunderbird

er if its being set to 127.0.0.1 even he changes then its being changed for a reason and that is most likely for mcafee to scan the emails for viruses

Or disable the spam killer in Mcafee if it's enabled
