Nameserver problems

Hey,

On my site I changed servers, changed the domain nameservers to new one,and now everyday i see the old forum on the old server for a few hours, then the forum on the new server for a few minutes, then I see the old forum again (Then happens all again in a big circle)

I'm with Orange, contacted them and they say it is not to do with them

Any ideas please?

Thankyou

:welcome: to the site.

Who is the domain registrar? Have you logged back in to check the change was made properly. The problem is with them, i'd say. Maybe they aren't issuing the DNS changes properly or issuing it then re-updating it with the old IPs

Also, if you do DNS lookups, (http://www.dnsstuff.com), do the lookups confirm what forum is being loaded?

I am to be the only one having this problem though, none of my other members-Also i've noticed there's a pattern in the time that it changes-Between 5-10PM I see the forum on the correct server, but anytime before or after that time I see the old server

Thanks

Adding on to this now-I've been in contact with orange the past 3 days, and they keep telling me they do not offer support on personal websites, even though this is a problem with their nameservers

I'm at a bid of a loss on what to do, it is getting very frustrating

EDIT: I just pinged the site, and it pings

Re: Nameserver problems

I'd stand your ground with them. If it is only you that's suffering this problem, then it has to be Orange.

I'd call up Orange technical support, but keep it simple. Don't say its your site or you've moved it. Just say that you're having problems connecting to this site, and noone else is. You can then move on to Nameservers, and the times it works, but only once they see that its a ISP, not webhosting problem. You have to keep it simple for them. The more things you say, the more keywords they can latch on to to get out of solving the problem.

As soon as you say its your personal website and nameserver problems, they just say its not their responsibility and put their fingers in their ears, even when, quite clearly, it is.

Thankyou everybody, Orange finally replied with a sensible answer and i've managed to sort the problem

If anyone else has this problem, they need to do the following:
