NTL Phone Reconnection
Basically after a bit of information that you NTLboffins may be able to help with.
I used to have a NTL Phone Line which I cancelled about 6/7 months ago (exact time I am unsure of). I currently have Broadband with NTL. I called today to ask about reconnecting my NTL Phone Line (mainly to use fax as I need this now to submit my tax and pay information - Personal use). I was informed the earliest they could send an engineer out was next Thursday (16th) but I had to be in all day. I work contract so a day off work would be too costly for me. Earliest Saturday available was 25th November which I have asked to pencil in but doubt I will keep this appointment (I'll have to find another solution for Fax). I explained I had all the cables installed and asked why an engineer was needed. The sales lady just said disconnections after 30 days need an engineer sending out :o Basically I would like to know what the engineer needs to do in my house to make my phone line work again?? When I stopped it last time no one came out to unfasten anything so why does something need plugged in now?? I love to know how everything happens :)) Your answers are appreciated! -- For informations sake the two packages offered were £7 line rental and free weekend calls or £11 line rental and free TV but with a £25 installation charge. EDIT: (Which got me thinking) Why does the line rental with FREE TV cost more? hehe |
Re: NTL Phone Reconnection
After a period of time, the phone line wires may well get physically disconnect at a cabinet, rather than just being turned off. Someone needs to check they reconnect those correct wires.

Thanks. ---------- Post added at 17:39 ---------- Previous post was at 17:24 ---------- I had a look at eFax but they charge £7.50 per month - more than an NTL phone line :o and it seems TPC dont cover the fax numbers I need to send to. Anyone have any alternates at a cheap (or free) price :) |
