Re: shouldnt these channels be on ntl by now
And youve posted 2 threads saying nearly the same thing... why?
|
Re: shouldnt these channels be on ntl by now
what would they have HD channels for ex NTL when they dont have an HD box yet.
i must admit the point of consolidating companies is to make profits from merge efficiencies so you would expect both (ex) companies to offer the same services by now |

Do ITV2 and 3 + 1 even exist? Don't think they are on Sky either. |

Re: [Merged] Shouldn't these channels be on ntl?
ITV 2+1 and ITV 3+1 are about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Re: [Merged] Shouldn't these channels be on ntl?
TBH, apart from the fact that after the software upgrade, my Tivo wouldn't record E4 (the box misread the signal transmitted if it included a double digit), I don't really see the point of the +1 channels. Certainly not where the content is available on VOD (sadly not the case with ITV). It just seems to be a way of using up extra channel.

Re: [Merged] Shouldn't these channels be on ntl?
I'm guessing they will become as useful for Ntl customer as they are for Sky when the PVR is launched. It's becoming more and more useful for us to be able to set stuff on Sky+ to record on the +1 channels during prime time as you can only record one/two channels at a time.
I'm guessing with 3 tuners the Ntl PVR will probably negate this benefit but for Sky it really is useful. :) |
Re: [Merged] Shouldn't these channels be on ntl?
The +1 channels are superb for those of us who remember that it used to be free to watch one channel while videoing another and have no wish to line $ky's pockets by subscribing to their 'service'. :p: We can no longer watch and tape but at least there is some chance of catching up with stuff by time shifting. TBH I'd be more interested in a +1 service from the BBC though.

Re: [Merged] Shouldn't these channels be on ntl?
Are you on Freesat Chris? If so then just buy another box from EBay and hook it up to your dish and you'll be able to record one and watch one. :)

I've been waiting patiently for the BBC and ITV to get their own Freesat service up and running as I suspect there is likely to be more on it. Sky is still keeping a little too much out of its Freesat line up, especially compared to Freeview terrestrial. If all the C4 and 5 variants, plus a couple of the UKTV channels, were available on Sky's freesat service then I probably would consider buying a second box. As it is, I'm happy to hang on for a while longer. Do you not need to install a dual LNB on the dish to run two boxes though? |
Re: [Merged] Shouldn't these channels be on ntl?
Most new installations by Sky have them already fitted. I think they do it to east the install of Sky+ when they flog it (I mean "up sell") to you.
If you only have a singe a dual can be had on Ebay for a few quid. We've got an Octo Lnb at the moment as we have 2 Sky+ and a Freesat in the Kitchen (no Freeview here. :( ) Sky through it in when we bought the second Sky+ I wonder if I could get some coax long enough to share a spare port on ours? |
