Spam!!!!

What about this then, joined up last week, filled in what my default email addy would be but I havent as yet given it to anybody but I today recieved my 1st piece of spam on it. :shocked:

This is almost as bad as hotmail. :shocked:

Spammers do try to guess email addresses.

I know but 5 days in to get 1 is a bit of a ****er.

Got exactly the same start to a pipex address and I've also never given that address to anybody and have never recieved anything in the 18 months I was with them.

I know there's nothing can be done about, I just wanted to gripe LOL :D

I have been getting 5 emails per day for the last week, from someone called "Athens Financial Group" and an international vacancy somewhere. :afire:

I brke my record last night, 56 spam emails in the space of 7 hours... Every single one filtered through into the SPAM folder on gmail though, so no worries :D

An internal email went out stating we are having to turn up the levels of protection on spam (more sensitive to the wording etc)
Wether that is just internal emails in the offices or also customers I dont know.

It could be some people have scanners which send emails by running thru a list of names and characters.

Example:
AA@blueyonder.co.uk
AB@blueyonder.co.uk

So on so on
As its a programme over 25 emails can be sent a second and the person or spammer doesnt have to sit there doing it so therefore they will not get tired

This can be done via the use of a Visual Basic Programme.
(Doesnt require much brains to make this happen)

It could be a business it could even be a child behind it. but also as it is easy to do, thousands of other people could be doing it
