Ntl Proxy weird

"You are using the 'leic-cache-7.server.ntli.net' proxy server.

This is an ntl Proxy Server in the Leicester area"

Is this normal?? . I live in Derby which is quite far from Leicester , Can this be a reason for why my service is almost 500k speed ??...Because when i checked along time ago it was a nottingham , which was running fine for me but it seems to have changed...which i didnt do..

Don't know for sure as mine is not specified it's on auto try any of these. I only know I'm Leicester because I use the connection tab at the top of the page. The problem could be local to you as it's ok ere in Chellaston.

Leicester 1 = leic-cache-1.server.ntli.net
Leicester 2 = leic-cache-2.server.ntli.net
Leicester 3 = leic-cache-3.server.ntli.net
Leicester 4 = leic-cache-4.server.ntli.net
Leicester 5 = leic-cache-5.server.ntli.net
Leicester 6 = leic-cache-6.server.ntli.net
Leicester 7 = leic-cache-7.server.ntli.net

Just ran the check and we are both on the same proxy???
Results:

You are using the 'leic-cache-7.server.ntli.net' proxy server.

This is an ntl Proxy Server in the Leicester area.

I worked in the clientlogic (BT) call centre in Great Northern Rd, 3,000 problem calls on a good day. Think very carefully before you jump ship.:tu:

Oh my god , you wouldn't believe what happened , I made a last call at 11 yesterday and the person on the phone said he spotted the problem straight away . The signal strength was too low and in 15 Min's my speed would be back to normal . OK today its been Fantastic all day. Not 1 problem . What stupid about this is that i spoke to 5 people and only 1 spotted my signal strength was low....

Not being an expert in tech support myself, but if signal strength is low then this is normally a tech visit, possibly requiring access to the cabinet. Maybe all they've done is add you onto the UBR you should have been on in the first place (i.e. maybe you were added to an incorrect UBR initially).... then again maybe I'm just stabbing at guesses in the dark here.

Agreed. You are correct. That is a tech visit to adjust the levels :)
