XP log on screen emails waiting !

Hi all

At the log on screen on this PC when emails arrive for people it states 1 Unread message............if you move the cursor over this message states email for example name'hotmail.co.uk one unread mesage with out that person being logged on !

Can this be stopped ???

Use Tweak UI from Microsoft.
