Fancy some web dev work
I have to pop a quote in to create a web site for a truck driver recruitment firm and would like to outsource a portion of the work.
I'm currently struggling with the owner who wants buttons that crackle and pop and music to get his expectations of what will be delivered back in the real world. This is a low budget project and intended as a part time thing. He really likes this site which I did for my sister however he is still at the 'moon on a stick' stage and I'm dragging him to reality. spec: A simple user admin login system Ability to upload and maintain a profile including uploading a cv A jobs database that can be maintained via a simple web form and that displays 10 jobs per page and is searchable. The site will have 2 sides to it, one that employees see and another that employers can access. I'm looking for a quotation for this set-up not an hourly rate. I'm also prepared for this to be done over weeks not days and to work around your commitments. Interested? Pm me or email mark at mlweb dot co dot uk If The quote is accepted we can discuss this further. |

I'm not sure how many of us are web developers, well professional web devs that is.:erm:
Maybe they have all the work they can handle at the moment or they lack confidence. |

Problem is I can't sign on either DOH ! One thing that intrigues me is when I hear someone on the street ask for spare change - wtf ! They get a giro and I don't ! (Nope I shouldn't b**tch as ultimately at least I have a roof over my head) Congratulations Job Offer Alas I cannot do this for you - you did say budget right :) :) :) I don't come cheap whether employed or not. However I can maybe guide you. I assume you're going for a simple PHP/MySQL set up right. DON'T get this hard coded by some code monkey especially the back end admin interfaces. I'm viewing this as a very simple problem. You can get an out of the box CMS like zope, mamba, opencms, phpnuke etc etc theres so many to choose from but you need only choose one as it will serve the backend which the public wont see. Have a search on sourceforge for a CMS.... So that's your admin interface sorted in like 2 hours... All you need now is to reference content and pages to the front end with some simple code... Total ETA for a competent developer would be around 4 days (2 days backend 2 days frontend integration) excluding design which I hope said developer has left placeholders for :) I don't do design real developers don't do the arty farty stuff heh (I can hear the heavy boots of the macromedia/adobe designers running to stomp me already). Good luck mate |

Why not?You should just so you get your NI paid while you are out of work EVEN if you don't get any benefit. It's what my husband is doing at the moment and he gets no JS allowance at all because he has a navy pension and I work part time.He still signs on though. Anyway just carry on with handyman's needs...;) |

Considering they have to be web developers, at a loose end, and willing to work for next to nothing, no replies in 37 isn't unreasonable. I could do it, but I can't just drop everything to do it. If I was at a loose end i'd take up Russ' offer which is probably more lucrative. Unfortuately i've got more than enough to be getting on with. |
