Does anyone know...

If there is an ISP out there that is totally free?

When I say free, I mean an 0800 dial up.

I know that broadband is cheap as chips, however this is only termporary until my new landlord gets the line sorted for broadband.

Cheers in advance...

Didn't think 0845 was free?

Tuft, have you tried the old wireless network trick yet?

Re: Does anyone know...

0845 isn't free but it is a local call number so it won't cost all that much...I'm not aware of any 0800 dial up numbers in use anymore (that does'nt meant there aren't any though!) which is why i posted that link!

Our local library has free access to t'internet... that's the best I've seen.

Not seen any 0800 dial-up accounts since the days of Red Hot Ant (or am I confusing that with some dodgy Dutch porno channel that the government wanted to ban from being beamed by Dutch satellites into the UK  )

I seem to recall using one called xstreem - or similar, but it had adaware across the top of the screen while using it. This was a long time ago tho - and even if you could find a free one now I bet you'd get the same thing. I think the 0845 thing is the way to go. Or make a much better wireless receiver and do some hunting ;)

Gawd, Redhotant, I remember them!
Despite their awful rep, they did offer totally free dialup, hehe (When you could get connected that is)
I remember Xstream to

Btw, isn't the use of other people's wireless networks illegal?

Probably, but it happens all the time. Some idiot has just set a new wireless network up next to me, on channel 11. Which destroyed my signal quality totaly, had to get hard wired to the router and switch to channel 6. I did have half a mind to wreck theirs totally by emitting 251mW of power (illegal). I didn't though.

Yea, there's two neighbours closeby, who have unsecured, wireless internet.

Only if you get caught ;)
