Keyboard light always stays on? Why?
Hey Guys and Gals.
Ive recently (Friday night! :) ) upgraded my PC, new motherboard, RAM, and Graphics card and its all working lovely! Apart from the Keyboard never seems to power down! :( When the PC shuts down the light is still lit up on the keyboard:confused: Ive checked all the Bios settings and I can not see myself a reason for this. But it is very annoying  Can anyone help and guide me to the procedure to turn of the lights and get the keyboard to power down when the PC does please? Thanks! :tu: |
Re: Keyboard light always stays on? Why?
What of KB is it USB PS/2?
if it is USB how is it connected to the PC? If its via a Hub is that powered? Are you shut down, or hibernating the PC? Some BIOS have wake on X activity. |
Re: Keyboard light always stays on? Why?
Me suspects that it's hibernating instead of shutting down. Power Management option in Control Panel - disable the whole lot. Always On for everything and untick the hibernate option. Also make sure the power button is configured correctly in the BIOS.

Re: Keyboard light always stays on? Why?
On my old PC the keyboard and mouse would stay powered up even when the PC was shut down, there was a setting to be able to power it up by the keyboard iirc.

If you press the space bar twice - does she fire up?

Re: Keyboard light always stays on? Why?
Hi
some good ideas there, I will have to test if it fires up when I press spacebar when I get home. Is there anyway to trun it all off? As Id prefer it to totally shut down when I tell it to rather than it sit there eating energy and waiting for me to start it up. |
Re: Keyboard light always stays on? Why?
Hate to disappoint you but LED Lights aren't that energy intensive :)
