HELP PLEASE
 

I will state what i have first.

NTL Broadband cable modem
Linksys wrt54g v 5
Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC

This is the problem I have (I hope this makes sense).

I cannot get my internet to work when i go to share it through my network. I always get page cannot be displayed.
another thing that botheres me aswel is when i go to install the router and follow the instructions i cannot get past stage one (cd is working fine) becasue it tells me to take the wire out that i use to connect to the internet and plug it in to the router. this is impossible because i have a usb cable that i use to connect to the interent and if i take it out it will not fit in to the router.

I also try and connect my xbox 360 through it and i keep getting failed DNS.

I have had my network up and running before but dont undertsatnd why i cannot get it to work now. I have all the latest drivers and firmware you can get.

What i had done is i had windows vista evaultion installed and then i reformeted my computer again and put xp Pro on and i just simply cannot get it to work.

Can any1 help me please.

Is it a usb adapter you have Ethernet to usb ?

With regards to your DNS have you set a static ip address or is it set to DHCP?

yeah my usb adapter connects to my the back of my ehtent network port

what is a static ip address and dhcp
