Problems Since Channel Reshuffle

Hi, has anyone had any problems since the channel reshuffle?

Since the reshuffle both of my STBS have been randomly freezing, and stuttering on BBC1 and ITV1. Have also been getting stuck on some channels!

Earlier on today both of my STBs decided that they didnt want to be on BBC1 so switched to a random Radio Channel.

Was just wondering if I need to call NTL?

Thanks

Like to point out that both of my boxes are Pace boxes (not sure of the model numbers) and that I connect to the net via stb!

It's not normal behaviour. Assuming you have done the power off, leave a couple of minutes and power on again bit, to no effect, I'd be on the phone.

I recorded Five overnight on 18th. At some point, it switched from Five to E4 without changing the number 105 on the STB - so in all innocence, I watched an hour of a baseball game before finding the rest of the recording was an American film. This is horribly reminiscent of about a year ago, when STBs kept switching channels, and all we got from Customer Services were weasel words about a "software problem". I really thought NTL had left these irritating problems behind - obviously not.

For the 2nd time in a week, an overnight recording I made off channel 105 has switched to a different channel in the middle, (without the displayed number changing). NTL are sending an engineer to look at the STB.
I told Customer Services that I learned from an online forum that someone else had the same problem, exactly the same time, same channel, and therefore the odds appeared against a STB fault.
Customer Services brushed this comment to one side. Do we conclude that NTL are in denial about an increasing recurrence of the channel switching that messed up their TV service last year?

What time does it do it, whereabouts are you and what model STB do you have?

I seem to be getting similar problems with my channels aswell since the channel reshuffle. One time i was trying to switch channels but no matter what channel number I put in, it would move to the channel number but always display BBC radio 1(well the sound). The one which has had an almost daily occurance is when I switch on the cable about 4.15 pm and every channel I select says "Un-prescribed channel". Restarting the set-top box ocassionally does not fix it straight away.

Also recently my 10mb internet(through the STB) has been terrible with lots of packet loss lately. Wonder if that could be connected?

Ps keep us updated about what engineer has to say.

Here's the update following the engineers's visit today:
1) He had not come across my problem - involuntary channel switching without the displayed number changing. NTL engineers get a general briefing when a problem becomes more widespread
2) His personal view was that my STB (the original PACE installed about 4 years ago) might not be coping too well with current software. He replaced it with Samsung SMT-2100C
We'll see. For the record, I live in the Epsom/Croydon area. Software is Langley CR3. The problem has occurred twice, each time about 3 or 4 am.
As I said, on the first occasion someone else in a different part of the country suffered it at exactly the same time. I'll try and find out what STB he has.

The Guide+ web site now says that we should select "NTL" as the cable provider as the previous "NTL Bromley" option is being discontinued on 8 November.
