dvdrw/cdrw combi drive

Right

My Dual layer dvdrw drive has more problems then working parts, I can put a cd/dvd in watch it and try to access it about twenty minutes afterwards of no activity only for it to crash the pc.

Aswell as that it was a budget buy and I think it's due for an upgrade to a decent one.

Anyone got any recommendation?

well the new NEC are a group effort as it were no longer do these drives read as NEC so unless you find a 4750a then I would leave NEC until there tested and proven ok

What he said, no complaints with mine and it was less than £20

Do you want dual layer support?

Do you want Lightscribe support?

Do you want DVD-RAM support?

Plenty of cheap options here:

why would anyone want lightscribe??? its such a lame technology
The Nec 4751a does all of the above I would recommend this drive and svp still have it.Its the models beyond this one im dubious about

4751a and before though until newer drives are tested as these may not be actual NEC drives
