PDF output
I have prepared a Word document that I need to send for professional printing. They would like the file in PDF format. That should be no problem - I thought. I loaded up CutePDF and sent the document to the new 'printer'. I can see the results fine BUT my grey text has come out all grainy. I assume that something along the way is doing this as a half-tone instead of selecting grey 'ink'. I've also tried PrimoPDF and I get exactly the same results. The file may print up okay but I can't help feeling it should be possible to get better results than this.
Any brilliant ideas? |
Re: PDF output
A couple of suggestions...
Open Office has a convert-to-PDF option, it might be worth installing that and seeing if you get better results. Also, I believe that Adobe's online PDF conversion tool offers 5 free conversions before you need to subscribe to it. You might get the best results using that. |

Re: PDF output
When you create the PDF with CutePDF, and send the document to the PDF device... If you click properties in the print dialog, and up the quality... Does that make a difference?
PDFs are created from the raw postscript that's sent to printers (hence the printer-like drivers) so should have an effect. |
