Viewing Images within emails in Microsoft Outlook

Hi all,

Is there a way I can make images viewable within an email rather than having to double click the attachments first? I use Microsoft Outlook 2003.

I want to be able to see images within an email that are visible as soon as you single or double click the email.

Hope you can help?

Cheers.

I'd like to know this too. I'm using Outlook 2003 here.

Are the images downloading but just showing as files within the email?

That's images for webpages, what hes trying to find out is how to display attachments(images) that are sent to him. Would love to sort this out too. :)

I think there's an option in the settings somewhere but I don't have access to Outlook at the moment, so can't be specific. Image downloads I think.

I also wanted to know if you can view attached pictures without clicking on the attachment.
Unfortunately it appears this option is not available as it is in Outlook Express.
Have just checked in the Help Section and come up with this:

Note In Outlook, picture attachments cannot be displayed in line in a message body the way they can in Outlook Express.

Now I remember why I started using Outlook Express again.

I hate using outlook express, I'm more used to outlook but the tech guy at ntl talked me through setting up my ntl email through outlook express cos of the problems with the ntl website at the time. I'm not hassled about changing it though, it'll do!

The only way to see images inline in Outlook is if the message is in HTML format & the sender has used 'Insert Picture', rather than 'Attach'.

If you're comfortable with VBA, there's a project for an attachment viewer here.

It lets you open all attachments at once in your choice of viewer...

The source code can be downloaded here...

Can purchase The Bat! - very much like Outlook, only not written by Microsoft.

Certain virus software packages and firewalls have setting which block attachments from opening or being recieved.
Have you got either?
