5 channel bypass refused supply never mind fit

I have just had a samsung box fitted with the base pack by ntl. As I get a extremely unwatchable picture from by flats roof top areial. I asked if they could fit a bypass filter but this was refused point blank, even though I had asked customer serviceswhen I ordered this and was told that would be ok just remind the engineer when he arrived. So I can only watch and tape the same programme even the big 5, not much use in a digital age. Is there anything I can do to get hold of this filter. Suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I am not certain, but it may be that engineers are no longer fitting new bypasses as NTL plan to turn of the analogue signal in 2007.

I know they are not keen on doing it anymore because of the analogue switch off, but if you have asked for it specifically, then you should have got it, ring 150 and ask about it, as it was promised to you, they may even put one in the post to you!

The installers do not fit them unless you have had the service with your other set top box .Like for like :)

The installer should not have fitted the 2 way splitter, please do not encourage the use of these, as they cause issues on the network when used in this way.

As sollp has sais by doing this you cause problems for you and others in your street if not done properly.Ntl instalers should not do this  I understand that it is anoying that you can not get this service thats why the stb boxes do not have this function on them if you had it before with you other box then he sould have fitted you one .The council in this area is upgrading the aerials in the flats for the digital switch off try contacting the council or housing company:)
