Remote Extender

I have a telewest box which is marked DI4000. Can anyone tell me if I can plug a co-ax into the rear and connect to a second television? Also if I do this does the remote for this box work on IRDA? I intend to to buy a Digieye DG-100DE remote extender. Will this all work?
