Intermittent browsing issue
Hi guys,
I'm running Win XP, NTL 4MB (through a Terayon TJ210) through a Belkin Wireless Router (ethernet connection downstairs and 1 wireless connection upstairs) My problem is this, when I start either IE6 or the latest version of Firefox the browser will sometimes hang for what seems like an eternity with the message 'website found, awaiting reply' in the bottom left hand corner. It also hangs on occassion, halfway through opening a page, leaving red x's where the pics should be or missing text. Before I installed the wireless it worked fine through USB. When it's working OK, I'm getting close to my full download and upload speeds. Fri, 6 Oct 2006 21:46:10 UTC 1st 512K took 1094 ms = 468 KB/sec, approx 3856 Kbps, 3.77 Mbps 2nd 512K took 1093 ms = 468.4 KB/sec, approx 3860 Kbps, 3.77 Mbps 3rd 512K took 1250 ms = 409.6 KB/sec, approx 3375 Kbps, 3.3 Mbps 4th 512K took 1282 ms = 399.4 KB/sec, approx 3291 Kbps, 3.21 Mbps Overall Average Speed = approx 3596 Kbps, 3.51 Mbps Any suggestions greatly welcomed. Regards, Geoff |
