NTL = Liars !

Bloody ntl are nowt but LIARS, when I signed up they told me they would cancel my BT account, well guess what I have just got a bill off BT for £36.49p :shocked:

i thought they had done it cos I even have a new phone number.

From now on I'll keep a good eye on NTL's way of business !

I now wish I'd stuck with BT.

I'm Not a happy person at the moment :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

So if anyone is thinking about joining ntl think TWICE :(

Why would ntl cancel your BT account?

Not only why... how?

To be fair ntl told me this when I came back a couple of years ago... They didn't - but BT called me as they had had a number porting request from ntl. I cancelled BT while I was on the phone to them.

Surely NTL can't cancel an account with BT without written permission from you anyway, and then the DPA has to come in somewhere.

Well personally I wasn't happy 'till I'd heard it from the horses mouth (BT) anyway. But I was /told/ that they would cancel it all for me.

Re: NTL = Liars !

If a customer is "porting" their number from BT to ntl then the customer doesn't have to do anything, the number is requested and then BT write to the customer to confirm the number is being ported and the account will be cancelled.

In the situation above this doesn't seem to have happened as the customer has been given a new number so no port has taken place. Not sure if actually the customer wanted the port to happen or not but I think a call to C/S is in order to clarify what the original order was and where the customer wants to go from here.

Well the OP said that he now has a new number so it obviously wasn't a port? Correct?

If you thought you were porting your old number - you must have realised that you had a new number surely?

Number ports can take a while, and until it is complete, the BT account can't be cancelled. (otherwise you loose the number) Is the number port still pending?
