Cam crashes modem
 

My old Logitech Quickcam Pro (dark focus ring) has suddenly started crashing my Blueyonder cable modem whenever I turn it on. Within a few minutes and sometimes immediately the cable and status lights go off and I have to power the modem down. I thought it was a messenger programme doing this but the same thing happens whatever messenging software I use. The modem has also occasionally done this recently without the cam being on. The whole thing only started a couple of months ago and before that I never had any problems.

How is your modem connected? If it's via a USB cable, that could be the route of the problem.

The modem is ethernet and the cam is USB and the setup has always been the same which is why it's confusing me.
