Prefix Dialing codes.
Whats a good source to find out an Area Dialing Code?
Had two calls tonight that ring off when answered but i think that they are Mobiles? 08665 & 08663. Any thought`s on this anyone? Cheers. Neil. |

isn't 0086 the international code for china or have a remembered that wrongly...?

Uk mobiles are all 07 has standard now, so you can discount a UK number, not sure on offshore numbers tho.

www.ukphoneinfo.com is a great site for finding area codes - and it works backwards too, so you can put in a number like 01234567890, and it will tell you it's in Bedford, but probably not valid.
08663 & 08665 aren't found, so either the call didn't come from the UK (in which case, surely it should come up as International?), or whoever was calling you inserted a fake CLI - in which case it was probably an international call centre... |

Telephone numbering is administered by Ofcom. They have lots of info about it here:

Just found out that the 0866 and 0863 numbers are from an Indian call centre trying to sell us a Loan! Basta**s!:mad:
