This seems like a weird problem, it happened since this morning, i'm able to recieve emails fine, but when i try to send anything, it fails immediately, like it's not even trying to send it.

Any ideas? I've not seen anyone else having the problem, on forums, etc. So i'm guessing it's something at my end.

I sorted it, bloody Yahoo messenger, and some of the stuff it had installed alongside, extras, email, etc. It must have hogged the outgoing port. It's all uninstalled now, and working well. :D
