DECT (Wireless Digital) phone from Holland

Does anyone know if a DECT phone bought in Holland will work in the UK ? I know that there is something like a European standard but I would like to know if somebody has done this before. Thank you. Dutch greetings ! :Yikes:

Yep should be compatible with UK systems as far as I know, especially since most manuals now come in about 20 languages :erm:

No, it won't. I have one bought in the UK and one bought in Holland, and the Dutch one does not work here. Mind you, the handset does. It's just the base station that doesn't work.

So, if you were to buy another (preferably identical) DECT phone, you'd be able to use both hand sets with the UK base station. You could use the Dutch base station for recharging. Just not as a phone.

Edit: where's my manners... :welcome: to the site themilt

Thanks guys. The score is 1-1 but just to be sure I will buy one in the UK when I come over next week. The thing is that they are much cheaper here in Holland especially the Philips one. Good to know that the additional handset will work. SO I only have to buy the base station. Cheers dudes.......:p:
