Lost Ch4 and E4
Earlier this evening, we lost the picture and sound on both Channel 4 and E4. E4+1 seems fine.
I rebooted the cable box and the display flashed "EAAS" and "lAIt" for a while. It then did a count up on the display, followed by a boot. Once it had booted, a message was on the screen saying that there had been an upgrade, but still no Channel 4 or E4. Before I try to log a fault call, does anyone know of any work going on at the moment which would cause this to happen? I am in Fleet, Hampshire. Regards, Andrew EDIT:Looks like they are both back now! Probably no point in logging a call, but I would still love to know why this has happened. |
Re: Lost Ch4 and E4
Probable updating software for vod let it load, unusual but it normally happens during the early hours, unless your STB was powered down from the mains.

Re: Lost Ch4 and E4
There is a software upgrade going on in your area at the moment, which is what you saw. But it shouldn't cause loss of channels. Ring ntl if the channels are still off in the morning.

My C4 was off earlier too - it froze during that French Legion programme - but I was on the phone so not bothered. Didn't check E4 - but ITV was OK, putting it back to C4 it was dead. All Ok now though.

Re: Lost Ch4 and E4
I had this last night - The VOD software is on my box now, I think it was part of the update.

Re: Lost Ch4 and E4
I had it too, can't see how a VOD update would just affect one channel
Added to which, we got the VOD stuff last week ?? |
Re: Lost Ch4 and E4

My c4 was not working last night all other channels ok though, i phoned cs and a recorded mesage told me that there was a fault in my area which was being seen too. It came back on again around 2 o clock this afternoon.

But VOD won't work until it is enabled in your area. |
