Making owned cable box work in your CATV network.
I currently have digital service thorugh Time Warner Cable. I wanted to put a digital set top in my room's TV so I bought an official Time Warner cable box from Ebay. When I hooked it up it would not work. It tells me to call my operator. IS there any way I can make the cable box work? I talked to someone that works in the cable comapny and he told me that the cable box has to be set up to receive the unique signal in this area. Can I some how do that? Maybe by reprogramming the box.

We are a UK based forum for UK cable services. You may do better to contact Time Warner Cable in the US direct.
Most products sold as "official" or otherwise on ebay. are probably anything but. If you want UK cable services you need to contact and take services direct from the UK cable operator supplying your area, who will provide all the kit you require. In the UK, attempting to reprogram the box, or similar measures to bypass the cable companies settings, is theft, and won't be promoted or discussed further here. Hence I'm closing this thread. |
